Fakemon Crad-dex

Okay, when I first came up with the starters, I knew one thing: The Grass one will have vine eyebrows. I ended up using a snake for it, which is odd since snakes don't have eyebrows (or eyeLIDS, for that matter). I ended up having nothing else going for me there, so I was pretty much winging it from then on with the Grass ones. Stumpents forearms are based on stumps. Vinosaur (Yeah, I know there's already one named VEnosaur, but bear with me) was completely winged. From the mustache-like leaf on its face to its T-rex-like claws, there was no foresight with it. Then came the Fire starters. I already knew I wanted a mosquito Pokemon. In hindsight, making it the starter might not have been the best idea. Nevertheless, I did it. Oddly enough, I accidentally came up with a firefly for the first stage. The end result ended up being a bizarre mashup of a mosquito and a firefly. I also wanted a narwhal Pokemon. Enter Narwhelp. I actually made these guys up about a year ago when I was doodling. Those old sketches look kinda similar to these three, but not really.

Next is the "ComMons." Y'know, the ones that bug you every five seconds throughout the game. I tried to make a flying squirrel, but I ended up with a flying Sentret. This was not my intention. And Spannergon... I don't even...

The Volcano Pokemon were prethought, though. And they turned out similar to what was in my head: A Pokemon with a volcano for a body, with a head that floats above the crater. The Mantis Pokemon were my shot at the early Bugs. You might not be able to tell, but in the three-part evolutionary lines, the Stage 2 Pokemon are the least thought-out. Harpeon is the early Bird, and Harpellant is the oldest idea of all of these. It was originally thought of about two or three years ago for a project in my Mythology class. Its original name was "Barpella."

Oh, Crybanshee. Where to start? I was in my Ceramics class, coming up with an idea for my coil pot. The one this Mon was inspired by was the one I used. That pot is actually sitting on my dining room table, holding flowers. This one, I thought of an interesting idea: A Pokemon whose evolution depends on how much it likes its trainer at a certain level. It's an idea that has never been explored, probably because the "Minimum Happiness" Mon would be too hard to get (or too pointless). Regardless, I made them. Gorvenge is the "Minimum Happiness" result. It would be very strong, but have the "Truant" ability. It's not because Gorvenge is lazy. It just hates its trainer. Slitear is the "Medium Happiness" result. Yes, an Emo Pokemon. Get over it. And Happee is the "Max Happiness" result, natch. How touching.

Crawshoe. Oh, my. I'm seeing a pattern of "I've always wanted this particular thing to be a Pokemon" that will probably be a crutch for me. In this case, it's a horseshoe crab (just Google it if you don't know). I desperately tried to not make a Kabutops rip-off with Chopier. Did I succeed? You decide. As for Cirction, it's a dumbo octopus (ask Google). I was hesitant to do Plugstel since Elekid is already a plug-headed Pokemon. Oh well. If that slutty-looking pink fish from the fifth-gen isn't a Luvdisc evo, what's stopping me? I actually made Surjio first, then Plugstel. Strippelback is an idea I got about a month after those two. Aerow is based on an arrowhead. I used to look for some buried in my backyard back when I used to live in a trailer. I'm going to make an evolution for it, but for now that's a work in progress. I'm thinking of a tomahawk Pokemon.
